Adding a Plesk Email Account to Outlook
Once you've set up an email account in the Plesk control panel, you might want to add it to Microsoft Outlook to access your messages directly on your computer. In this article, we will guide you step by step on how to accomplish this.
Essential Details Before You Start
Before you begin, ensure you have the following details at hand:
- Email address (e.g., [email protected])
- Password for your email account
- Server name (usually something like: mail.domain.com)
Step 1: Open Outlook and Navigate to Email Settings
Once you have opened the Outlook software, navigate to File > Add Account.
Step 2: Choose "Manual setup or additional server types"
You will be presented with several options. Choose "Manual setup or additional server types" and then click 'Next'.
Step 3: Select "Internet Email"
Next, you should see an option labeled "Internet Email." Choose this and click 'Next'.
Step 4: Input Email Account Details
Now enter the details for your email account:
- Your Name: Here, type your name as you'd like it to appear to recipients.
- Email Address: Enter your full email address (e.g., [email protected]).
- Account Type: Choose IMAP or POP3. We recommend using IMAP as it keeps your email synchronized across all devices.
- Incoming mail server: Enter the server name (e.g., mail.domain.com).
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Use the same server name as incoming mail.

Step 5: Enter Advanced Settings
Click on 'More Settings'. Ensure that under the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' section, "My server requires authentication" is selected.
Step 6: Finalize Settings and Connect Account
Click 'OK' followed by 'Next'. Outlook will test the connection. If everything is correct, you'll receive a message saying the connection was successful. Click 'Close' and then 'Finish'.
